Greenhouses

Our ministry is dedicated to growing fresh, nutritious food to support local food pantries and combat food insecurity in our community.  We set out this year to do just that.  Due to the fact that we had a traditional garden we were met with several challenges.  We encountered several hungry deer and rabbits and had an abnormally long dry spell.  That being said we were able to provide a decent variety of squash, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers to local food banks, but not in the quantities that we desired.

We have found several decently priced greenhouses available on Amazon, and have already acquired two on our own.  Switching to greenhouses will not only allow us to protect our crops from the weather and hungry visitors, but will allow us to extend our growing season.  In short, moving the plants inside will allow us to grow and donate more food!

The Proposal:

We are asking for donations to help us offset the cost of additional greenhouses.  For a one-time donation of $300 we will be able to purchase a greenhouse and a water pump and have money left over to create a sign to place on that greenhouse.  We intend to use the sign to show appreciation for that individual or business.  We will make sure to highlight pictures of that sign as well as mention that donor in our various social media messages as a symbol of our appreciation.

If $300 is more than you can afford, please consider donating any amount.  We'd love any help, and the people receiving the produce will certainly appreciate it as well.
